Funding the Arts
On June 23, Cultural Coalition received some great news – We were notified that the organization had been awarded TWO grants!
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff and board members, Cultural Coalition was the recipient of a Maricopa County Resiliency Grant and a Phoenix Suns Grant, totalling $35,000. These funds will help us make a tremendous impact in our communities by supporting the work we do and the free cultural festivals we produce.
Cultural Coalition received $25,000 in funding from the Maricopa County Resiliency Program to assist in overall organization operations. These funds will be dedicated to general business expenses, maintaining our technologies, and staff salaries. Supporting the staff that work with the children in our free arts programs at Rancho del Arte and those that produce our amazing festivals.
The Phoenix Suns grant funds of $10,000 will directly support activities at the free after school program at Rancho del Arte. This funding will be used to purchase art supplies, new equipment for the children to do their homework on, and bring in more diverse artists to lead the children in different arts activities. Providing free meals and nutritional snack options to the children in the program who are residents of the El Rancho low-income housing complex.
We are so grateful to these funding organizations for recognizing the important work Cultural Coalition does in the community. Their support, combined with the year-round giving we receive from individual donors enables us to continue to provide free arts and culture programs to underserved communities throughout the Valley.
