“Your word is your wand, what you say, you create.” – Patricia Federico
“Through my business Mi Tierra Healing Arts, as a Wellness Practitioner and Seer, my mission is to provide compassion, relief, healing, and empowerment. The community recognizes me as a Mystic, a Curandera/ medicine woman in Mexican American Culture, and there are several different types. My work is in wellness with mind, body, and spirit. When it comes to mind, I guide others through meditation, through spiritual consultation, through intuitive counseling. With body, I offer energy medicine or reiki healing (which is energy work), in which a practitioner’s hands convey psychic energies. “
“I am known for my healing hands and my ability of foresight. One of my specialties is helping people with neck and back problems that have developed from stress using massage therapy, and a wide variety of ancient healing art techniques that I have learned over many years. During my time at Bio Link Therapeutic Institute, I was trained by a physician and a healer, which taught me both the scientific and spiritual aspects of the body. I learned about anatomy and physiology of the body, including different modalities in massage, which I use in my practice to this day.
I am most proud that I’ve been in professional practice for 25 years consistently. I am very grateful that the community continues to reach out to me and the fact that I am a mother, a daughter, a sister… all these aspects of my identity give me insight and perspective on how to help the community.”
Working with Cultural Coalition provides additional opportunities for me to share my knowledge and gifts with the community. During our Annual Dia de los Muertos festivals, I provide a sacred healing space for the community and include other healers who practice Meso American Traditional Healing Arts. Each year, I participate in the Desert Botanical Garden Procession. I have performed ceremonies and given presentations at Museums and galleries around the Valley including Heard Museum, Phoenix Art Museum and The Sagrado. I also created the “Volver” Fundraiser, through which we acquired new friends, recruit board members and focus on the importance of healthy foods, gratitude, and reconnecting to Mother Earth.
As a Cultural Coalition Board Member, my passion has been to create sacred space and spiritual support. I feel that this grass roots non-profit organization has a big heart. Sometimes the heart needs healing and support, and of course love to continue to provide life. The Cultural Coalition provides programming to under served communities of color in the Valley. This is done through the celebration of the arts with annual multi cultural festivals, educating neighbors about each other’s values to create more compassion and understanding.”
