    About Our Art Program

Our students received the Radiant Peace Award; an acknowledgment of their dedication to inspire, encourage and promote Radiant Peace which transcends the limits of race, age, gender, politics and religion.

It was the first time any group from Mesa, Az had submitted an entry for this particular award. As a further example of our students’ philanthropic spirit, they  spent three days creating holiday cards with heartfelt messages for children in hospitals across the nation.

We partner with Local First AZ Foundation to offer weekly cooking classes intended for students and their families to learn to prepare healthy meals.

We pride ourselves on being the community hub, where new personal bonds can be formed by creating art together. Our collaborations with new guest teachers such as Mr. Damien Charrette allowed students to experience and explore a diverse creative process using the printing press. We have also invited performing artists such as Keith Johnson (drumming) and Mariachi Juvenil de Mi Tierra to perform for community members.

    Our Mission

It is our mission to create a safe and inclusive environment for all. In order to engage  the students to honor their home, we conduct weekly trash pick ups and donate books from our classroom to the Little Free Library on site: a program that places book-sharing boxes where they can be a catalyst for improving literacy  and deepening community connections.
