TEMPE, AZ – Cultural Coalition and Tempe Center for the Arts (TCA) are proud to present the 3rd Annual INDIGENA: A Latin American Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration on Sunday, October 12, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. This free, family-friendly event invites the community to celebrate the rich traditions of Latin American Indigenous cultures with an afternoon of music, dance, and interactive activities.

Attendees can enjoy a vibrant schedule of performances and presentations, along with food, interactive educational booths, and hands-on arts and crafts. A highlight of the day will be the Mexican indigenous fashion show and interactive sensory experiences from the traditional healers nonprofit The Patiloni Collective, an opportunity for all ages to connect with ancestral practices from Latin America.

2:50 p.m.: Peruvian Music Performance by Los Waukis

3:20 p.m.: Peruvian Dance Performance by Bailamos Peru

3:35 p.m.: Curanderismo Presentation by Patiloni Collective

3:50 p.m.: Viejitos Dance by Primavera Ballet Folklórico

4:00 p.m.: Fashions of Indigenous Mexico Curated by Dayel Guzman

4:30 p.m.: Peruvian Music Performance by Los Waukis

4:55 p.m.: Closing remarks by Zarco Guerrero

The event is designed to be inclusive and educational, offering a space for community members to learn about and honor the diversity of Latin American Indigenous Peoples. Attendees are encouraged to also bring their appetite to enjoy delicious pupusas full of Salvadorian flavors.
