Board Member Spotlight- Tom Pynn
For round two of our Board Member Appreciation Blogs, we interviewed Tom Pynn. Mr. Pynn has had a long and successful career in both Florida and Arizona. His work is very community centered and reflects his commitment to helping others and providing solutions to many issues that communities face. Tom has been an active board member for several years and, like all of our members, he has a great lifelong appreciation for the arts. He was gracious enough to share with us some of the reasons he values the current work of Cultural Coalition, as well as his excitement for our future endeavors.
“Hi I’m Tom Pynn. I’m CEO of Pynn & Associates. A research and evaluation firm with experience throughout the United States, Latin America, and Pakistan. We specialize in behavioral health issues and education.
I’m always looking for opportunities to improve the lives of those with behavioral health problems. Currently, I am involved in two large housing projects for homeless persons in Arizona. Recently I did a large study of autistic children in Southern Arizona to determine the educational approaches best suited for them
I am very interested in getting the community educated about the different cultures that form a part of our past. I am already trying to locate funding for the Mask Museum.
I believe that we all should support our communities by participating in events that raise the awareness of all peoples about each other. Get involved. Find something that excites you and join in the fun!
I think we (Cultural Coalition) educate the public about the art and music of our ancestors. I am looking forward to helping set up our new museum!”
As Tom mentioned, Cultural Coalition has a few exciting plans for the future that will continue to help us reach our goal of culturally relevant public arts education. We hope that our supporters will continue to grow with us as we develop these new and challenging plans.
