Dia De La Raza

Dia de La Raza, or “Day of the People,” is a holiday celebrated around Latin America on Oct. 12th, the same day the United States recognizes as Columbus Day. Dia de La Raza celebrates Mexican indigenous traditions, as well as the mestizo and U.S. indigenous people who have contributed to the prosperity of the Americas.  Through art, music and culture, this celebration will bring together diverse stakeholders to empower a marginalized community faced with a lack of civic engagement.
